Madrid is home to the Barajas International Airport, serving more than 52 million passengers every year, putting it into the top 10 busier airports in the world. The Barajas International Airport is a fully operational four-runaway airport.
In Madrid, the main rail terminals are Atocha in the south and Chamartín in the north.
Spain’s railway structure, the Red Nacional de Ferrocarriles Españoles (Renfe) controls the greater part of Spain’s railways.
Serving around four million, the Madrid Metro is one of the most extensive and fastest-growing metro networks in the world.
