Summertime in Madrid brings about very hot and dry weather. Millions of people flock to the Spanish capital just to get a piece of the nice climate action. To really enjoy the weather, it is important that you are wearing the correct clothing for the time of year. Typically the summers are very warm and the winters and very cold and bitter. During summer it would be sensible to wear light clothing and perhaps sunglasses to protect your eyes from the blinding hot sun. To stay warm during the cold Madrid winter days, you need to wrap up warm in several layers of clothing.
Madrid can have extremes in terms of weather.
Many tourists visiting any part of Spain will check the local temperatures before they depart, this is good advice. During summer it may not always be acceptable for tourists to walk round with their shirts off, although you may find the local people often do this to keep cool.
