PPI, sometimes called Mortgage Payments Protection Insurance (MPPI), has seen important overhauls in recent months because a full investigation by the market regulators after rumours of irresponsible selling by some providers (mis-sold ppi). My New Interest

I have always been a fan of finance and business so when I decided to combine the two interests into one, well.. the result was business finance! I have had my head in books relating to this topic for weeks now, and finally I am getting to understand the key areas of it. The thought of enrolling at college to learn further had crossed my mind but I decided to stick to learning at home in my own time. This meant re-decorating the study. I spent 5 days transforming the place into a business finance office, my knowledge on the matter is going from strength to strength!

World Youth Day - Madrid 2011

World Youth Day will be hosted in Madrid in 2011. The video below shows the logo and explains what is symbolises

It symbolizes the letter M for Madrid and the M for Maria, and it evokes youth coming together.

The logo also has a cross that reflects the theme for World Youth Day, rooted and built up in Christ and established in the faith.

According to the creator of the logo, the orange, red, and yellow symbolize Spains warmth and the warmth of God.

Claims Away To A Holiday

Before I go on holiday to Spain, I have to remember to put in that ppi claim before I do. I have left messages all around my house to remind me of the this, one on the fridge, one on the mirror in the bathroom.. To be honest with you, I can’t really afford this holiday so I am hoping the ppi reclaim I am going in for really pays off! My friend got a ppi refund last year so I am hopeful that I can be as lucky and get some cash back. You never know, the money I get back might pay for a return trip to Madrid if this holiday is successful!

Stressful Experience!

I spent all last week getting ready to relocate down south so I can be near my new job. I didn’t realise that moving house would be so stressful! I got all the family and a few mates to chip in with carrying furniture onto the van but I was still concerned with getting everything setup at the other end. Some people thrive off moving house, but for me, I won’t be rushing to do it again!

Leisure Market Slow To Recover

While the global property markets are slowly showing signs of recovery many expect the holiday or leisure property markets to remain stagnant for some time yet. The strength of the Euro against the British pound is another factor and with the UK expected to be among the stragglers emerging from the recession this further dampens the prospects for developers in this market. Here in Spain numerous developments are on indefinite hold including a large golf resort development near Malaga. However in Turkey, Altinkum apartments are bucking the trend and sales are holding strong. Many experts believe this is due to the recent EU status of Turkey.

Travel Market Evolving

Recent figures reveal that the travel industry is changing. The effects won’t be felt for another few years yet, but what we are seeing is that gap years are no longer the preserve of the student population or twenty something career breakers looking for a gap year Australia experience. It largest growth area is in the 55+ bracket or grey gaps as they are becoming known as. The south east Asian stomping grounds of Thailand, Laois, Cambodia and Vietnam are still popular, but grey gaps are looking for a little more luxury and have the cash to afford it too. It’ll be interesting to see how this affects traditional city break locations such as Madrid. The gap year Thailand set could become an interesting mix of young and old.
