The local people of Madrid are always seen as friendly, welcoming people. However if you annoy them and go against what they are used to, they might take a dislike to you! An example of this is you will often find the locals walking round with no shirt on in the warm climate, however if anyone else does this, they find it rude. Of course, this shouldn’t be the case. It is for this reason that arguments have broken out in the past between local people and tourists enjoying the warm weather.
There are of course 2 main football teams in Madrid and Real Madrid also have a fierce rivalry with FC Barcelona. Real Madrid have a star studded team so a trip to a match is a great opportunity to get some football players photos.
You have to understand the local people in Madrid to not offend them. Treat them with respect and they will keep themselves to themselves and welcome you with open arms to their magnificent country, so everyone is happy!
