There was a recent convention about bank charges in Madrid. The discussions focused mainly on the illegal application of charges on individuals primarily when taking out loans. Many institutions have blatently committed fraud when selling inappropriate PPI policies (Payment Protection Insurance) – in fact, there was a suggestion that up to 20 million people in the UK had been missold PPI (and may be eligible for a PPI Refund) over the past 8-10 years! How are they going to get out of this (the banks)? They can’t rewrite the law of fraud, can they?
